BP Indonesia currently employs over 1,200 people, most of whom work in and around capital of Jakarta or close to our main asset in Papua Barat.

BP is currently expanding its operation and this provides vast opportunities for senior Indonesian professionals to join and take lead in expanding Tangguh expansion project, exploration activities in Papua and our Coal Bed Methane (CBM) projects in Kalimantan.

 Role synopsis Responsible to support Tangguh LNG Facility development activities from FEED, EPCI until commissioning and start-up. Lead HSSE LNG organization under the direction of Project HSSE Manager.
Serve as high level point of contact for Tangguh onshore LNG HSSE activities both in office and construction’s work.

Key accountabilities
  • Develop Tangguh Project HSSE Management Plan for onshore LNG.
  • Provide assurance that the development and implementation of the contractors HSSE plans & procedures are in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the company's goals and expectations.
  • Review contractor’s deliverables including contractor HSSE management systems during FEED activities and provide feedback as per BP standard and best practices.
  • Manage company and contractor HSSE activities during construction in the contractor’s construction yard and Tangguh site.
  • Provide advice and support to the construction teams on the process and procedures to be put in place to manage HSSE at the site.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to the Company and Contractor HSSE teams.
  • Coordinate and enforce all site HSSE training needs in a timely manner.
  • Promote and participate in regular inspections and 'management walk-downs'.
  • Promote and participate in regular HSSE meetings.
  • Analyze HSSE trends and participate in the development and promotion of initiatives to address the root causes.
  • Prepare formal HSSE reports on a periodic basis.
  • Participate in incident investigations and the development of actions to address the root causes.
  • Participate and review risk assessments process for the Project.
  • Complete STOP / SOC reports for any unsafe acts / conditions observed.
  • Monitor the HSSE action tracking register to ensure timely closure of actions.
Essential Education
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or equivalent
Essential experience and job requirements
  • 12-15 years experiences of technical HSE on project and at least 7 years of that in onshore mega project.
  • Proven track record in HSE and/or operational disciplines preferably with experience working on a major project.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of the workforce.
  • Have safety expertise and experience for activities in the remote environment and construction yard
  • Understand International company HSE standards and procedures.
  • Hold Indonesian Citizenship
Desirable criteria & qualifications
  • Having an overseas working experience would be beneficial
  • Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Chartered Professional Bodies would be beneficial.
  • Proven track record as a strong team player.
  • Personal commitment and proactive approach to HSE.
  • Knowledge in field survey activities, especially in the remote area, logistics, contractor management, site construction activities and project early work activities (e.g. equipment inspection).
  • Experience in Behavior Based Safety, Control of Work, Incident Investigation and emergency response and preparedness.
  • Knowledge of oil industry and HSE Management System.
  • Preferably a certified HSE Professional (i.e. NEBOSH certification)

  • Understand International company HSE standards and procedures.
  • Hold Indonesian Citizenship.
