Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is the national oil refining company of Kuwait. Established in October 1960, KNPC handles the responsibility of oil refining, gas liquefaction, and distribution of petroleum goods within the local market. Established in October 1960[1] as a share-holding company owned by the Kuwait government and private sector, KNPC became fully government-owned in 1975. Since 1968 the company had been exporting petroleum products from its Shuaiba Refinery. In 1980, following the restructuring of the oil sector in Kuwait, KNPC was placed under the newly created Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), which was also government owned. Under this position, KNPC took control of distributing petroleum products within Kuwait, along with the ownership of the Mina Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries.

JOB SUMMARY
- Perform various operational planning, products development and economic analysis functions directed towards optimizing Refinery production and operations level.
- Prepares inventory projections, detailed daily operating plans and economic analysis of changes in process / products slate / feed, etc. issues blending instructions
- Coordinates with International Marketing (KPC) as required. Utilizes & updates Refinery LP model for various plans / studies using Linear Programming Techniques in coordination with corporate Planning, Manufacturing Optimization Group (MOG) and other refineries

JOB SUMMARY :
a. Setup, maintain and administer Smart Plant database for INTERGRAPH SMARTPLANT software suite (SP P&ID, SPI, SPEL and SP3D):
- Administration of project (CFP) Engineering documentation database including the oracle administration
- Align different EPCs on equal platform to work on SmartPlant Tools (SP P&ID, SPI, SPEL and SP3D)
- Setup of oracle database, Initialization of new domains, project, plant area unit structures, etc
- Developments of SEED files
- Exporting data from the CFP Engineering SmartPlant database to any given format. Interfacing to other applications, calculation software or EPC databases.
- Managing and ensuring data integrity among different EPC SmartPlant databases.
- Creation of complete sets of customized reports (deliverable).
c. Conduct in-house orientation to new and/or present users within the CFP department
MINIMUM RELATED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- A graduate Engineer in Mechanical/instrumentation/Electrical /Civil; with a good command of the English Language both spoken and in writing
- Minimum 8 years experience in an Engineering & Design Consultancy organization with 4 years as System administrator
- Highly proficient in Smart Plant Tools
- Skilled in Oracle programming and data management
- Familiar with software tools like access, Excel, AutoCAD and Micro station
- Preferably familiar with classification society rules and design codes
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
- Good communication skills
