COMMUNITY AFFAIRS MANAGER

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of External Affairs based in Jakarta , the Community Affairs Manager is responsible for developing, managing and implementing the various community affairs strategies and plans by working extremely closely with local community groups. They will ensure compliance regarding requirements of the relevant corporate standards, Indonesian legislation and global best practice. This role is also responsible managing the land access process and procedures including supporting documentation and claims, ensuring extremely close community consultation and involvement.

Requirements:
This is a senior and very responsible position within the BHP Billiton framework in Indonesia and it requires a candidate with total dedication to the cause. A community affairs focus and community relations attitude extremely important to ensure that the role is performed to the required standard. Demonstrated experience putting in place robust community affairs strategies is required and the successful candidate will have been working in this type of role within the private minerals and resources sector for at least 10 years.

Having Indonesian regulatory experience in relation to Community Social Responsibility (CSR) as well as strong understanding of the resources lifecycles and appropriate community relations strategies will be required. A demonstrated track record effectively handling major issues and challenges within a CSR environment and excellent stakeholder management skills will allow the successful candidate to inspire involvement from external and internal stakeholders to bring about a coordinated and consolidated solution to all involved.
